For those who have been waiting to buy Nokia Lumia 800, should hold their breath as some sources claim that the company plans to introduce the Nokia Lumia 900 as Nokia Ace at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
This phone will be a product of the partnership between Microsoft and Nokia and is based on the Windows Mango 7.5 operating system for mobile. This phone is basically an elder brother of Lumia 800 with almost all the features remaining same but with some LTE thrown in. This Windows Phone will be launch on AT&T under the name of Nokia Ace. The code name of this phone has been kept as Eloko.
The main specifications of this phone will be same as that of Lumia 800 such as 1.4 GHz single core QUALCOMM processor with 512 MB of RAM and an 8 MP rear camera. The only difference is the size of the screen and the front panel of the phone which has been increased from 3.7 inches in Lumia 800 to about 4.3 inches in Ace. Because of the larger screen and in built LTE card, the weight of this phone is little bit more than the Lumia 800.
Microsoft and Nokia need to launch a phone with killer features and specifications so that they can take on different players in the smartphone arena. Nokia has a lot of expectations that are riding on this device as through this device the Finnish giant hopes to reclaim its position in the smartphone arena. Microsoft’s Windows is also in dire need to have a flagship device in the US and there is a perfect candidate in the name of Lumia 800 that is launched on the other side of the Atlantic.
The Ace would be expected to be launched in US and Canada in the next couple of months. Earlier there were rounds of rumours that the company would be launching mid-grade Lumia 710 as the main flagship product on the Windows Mobile Operating system.
