Today we will be reviewing an application that enables us to send or receive messages via Bluetooth technology. We all have used Bluetooth to send or receive multimedia content from one mobile to other. But the messages cannot be sent or received using the conventional setup of the phone.
This messaging application works several modes. In ‘Spy Mode’ your device is spying for the Bluetooth devices and then shoots off messages to them. You can keep yourself updated to that device and if any activity is detected on that phone you can get alerts for yourself. In ‘Auto Shoot’ mode you will be sending messages to your Bluetooth connected devices after certain period of time. This is useful in ping service or any other kind of service where the connection status needs to be determined after certain intervals. Also do take care to use the Device Filter so that the privacy of the others can be respected. Device Filter as the name suggests is used to make the scanning of Bluetooth devices more specific. You can differentiate between PCs, PDAs, mobile devices and other devices such as scanners, printers, etc.
In order to use BlueShoot you must have Bluetooth activated in the visible mode. Some of the features of this app can be:
- Messaging can be done with your neighbourhood friends without any charge
- Appliances can be set to receive the messages via the BlueShoot
- The Spy mode can monitor the activities of certain phone and get appropriate alerts on it
- Device Filter will respect the privacy of other devices in the coverage area of your Bluetooth
This Java application has been tested to work with a majority of touch screen enabled phone of Symbian 5 series. Also another thing that you should keep in mind is that you should disable the on screen keyboard before launching this app.
In this age of free SMSs and the message packs becoming much cheaper than any would have ever imagined the scope for this application becomes much limited. But this interesting app can be tried at least once.
