Nokia Situations is a million dollar application that is a must to keep your phone under control. This excellent application allows you to define certain conditions or the times of the day where you want your phone to behave in a certain way.
Suppose you have a meeting with your important client at 1 in the afternoon and you want your Nokia device to be “silent”. Thus you can set the Silent profile at 1PM. So what is new in the app, most people will question as there are many predefined situations that are supplied by Nokia in their phones. It is here this application that comes in handy.
This application allows you to define certain modes and situations that you might be interested in setting up on your phone.
This app is designed in such a way that the device can automatically sense the situation and change the mode of the phone automatically. Nokia is continuously working on its sensors so that the functionalities of this device can be improved.
This app works silently in the background and waits for the combination trigger (inputs to the app) that activates it. Some of the combination triggers are system defined while others can be defined by you. Some of the functionalities that have been demonstrated by this device are:
- 1. Changing of Ringtones in the case of silent or vibrate profiles
- 2. Answer missed callers with a custom SMS
- 3. Save Power when you are sleeping or not using the phone for a while.

This application is in its beta phase and the exact functioning might be hampered a little bit. The app is available free of cost and can be downloaded from the Ovi Store of Nokia.
